A Multi-Disciplinary Study of Texture, Form, and Expression

At the heart of my work is BAYN—the space between. It is a realm where heritage and innovation converge, and where the raw textures of physical artistry meet the fluid possibilities of digital design. My practice is dedicated to exploring these thresholds, offering a curated experience that celebrates the nuanced beauty found in the 'between.' From the stroke of a brush to the structure of functional travel-wear, BAYN is a study of the connections that transcend time and medium."

The studio

  • A bespoke dialogue between the collector, the space, and the narrative. I accept a limited number of private commissions each year, specializing in works that bridge heritage with contemporary expression. Whether through the fluidity of oil on canvas or the structured depth of tactile textiles, each commission is a collaborative journey to create a unique anchor for your environment.

  • Exploring the raw relationship between the earth and the artist. This section of the studio offers a selection of existing works for private acquisition. These pieces lean into organic materials—utilizing charcoal, coffee, and oil—to investigate the space between traditional technique and modern abstract form. Each work is a testament to the beauty of imperfection and the passage of time.

  • Transcending the canvas to engage with three-dimensional space. My conceptual practice focuses on large-scale installations that challenge the boundary between fiber and form. Currently, the studio is preparing for a November 2026 solo exhibition, featuring experimental works that utilize tree log structures and fabric narratives to reimagine the evolution of heritage attire.

The BAYN Philosophy

Founded by Alia Al-Bazei, BAYN is a multidisciplinary studio dedicated to the exploration of the 'between'—the threshold where traditional Saudi heritage meets contemporary abstract form.

My process is deeply rooted in the tactile, utilizing organic materials like coffee, charcoal, and oil alongside conceptual textiles to document the evolution of culture and fashion. Every work is an archive of the passage of time, inviting a dialogue between the structured narratives of our past and the fluid possibilities of our future.
